Teresa's Story
Teresa received a life saving liver transplant on February 22, 2005.

At just 2 years old she had become quite accumstomed to hostpital stays and countless doctor visits. She was diagnosed with a disease called Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Type ZZ. Alpha-1 originates in the liver and can lead to liver failure at any time in life. It is the leading genetic cause of liver transplantation in children. Currently, the only treatment for the liver disease of Alpha-1 is a liver transplant.

Before Teresa's transplant, the disease had caused cirrhosis of the liver and organ failure was possible at any time. The transplant procedure was performed in record time and she is already back at home. Please pray for Teresa's continued health and recovery.
